“Watership Down” Kehaar & Rabbits Matching Production Cel and Background (1978) - ID: jun26025

A production cel and background setup from the Nepenthe Studios animated cult classic "Watership Down" (1978). Featuring Hazel, Fiver, Pipkin, Dandelion, Blackberry, and Bigwig, the hand-painted cel and background were created at the studio and used during the animation process. The piece is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the film. This pieced is seen at about 48:54 when the rabbits meet Kehaar and see him fly above them for the first time. Measuring 11”x13.25” overall, with the character image area measuring 6.5”x12.5”, the setup is in very good condition with light edge and corner wear, adhesive tape around the edges of the background,residue on the top and side edges of the cels, pin holes in the corners of the background, and the background overlay is taped to the background.
