A production cel and background setup from the Nepenthe Studios animated cult classic "Watership Down" (1978). Featuring Bigwig, the hand-painted cel and background were created at the studio and used during the animation process. The piece is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the film. The image appears at about 39:07 when Bigwig cowers in fear after hearing what he believes is the Black Rabbit of Inle. Measuring 10.5”x13.25”overall, with the character image measuring 4”x6.75”, the setup is in very good condition with light edge and corner wear and adhesive tape pieces along the top edges of the cels.
