This is a commemorative metal medallion that was produced for the 1982 grand opening of EPCOT Center at Walt Disney World and distributed to cast members. The coin measures 1.5" x 1.5" x .125" and is in excellent condition, still attached to the presentation card that it was sent in. This one was likely a sample created within the company and was not distributed to a cast member. One side reads "The Dawn of a New Disney Era" in front of Spaceship Earth and the reverse is not seen as it is attached to the card but features the EPCOT logo with the globe at the center of five interlocking rings. Both sides are very well detailed with three dimensional relief imagery.
