An original background color key concept from the Disney Studios animated film, "The Prince and the Pauper" (1990). Featuring a beautiful rendering of a street curb and sign, the hand-painted background was created at the studio and used during the animation process. The concept was used to develop and finalize the color palette, layout of the action, and the overall feel of the scene. When a color concept is finalized during production, it becomes the reference tool that animators use to paint cels and backgrounds, as well as to further progress through the storyboarding and layout of the individual scenes. Measuring 7.25"x9.5" overall, with the image itself measuring 5.75"x7.75", the concept is in very good condition with minor page discoloration, a slightly creased bottom left corner and edge wear, due to age and handling.
