“Watership Down” Fiver’s Premonition Production Cel and Background (1978) - ID: jun26006

A production cel & background setup from the Nepenthe Studios animated cult classic "Watership Down" (1978). Featuring Fiver, the cel and background were created at the studio and used during the animation process. Each layers is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the film. The setup consists of a painted background, background overlay, and cel layer that all appear around the 8:40 - 8:50 into the film when Fiver has a premonition about the field covered in blood. Measuring 13”x17” overall, with the character image measuring 6”x3.75”, the setup is in good condition with corner creases and warping on the cel layers, water damage on the background evident mostly on the reverse, and notable edge and corner wear throughout the background.
