This is a stunning and unique original concept drawing from the Walt Disney Studios classic feature film, Pinocchio. The imagery features a great shot of the boys acquiring their cigars from the "Cigar Store Indian" statues on Pleasure Island. This drawing was created at the studio and used during production to develop the look of the scene just after Pinocchio arrives to Pleasure Island and witnesses the chaotic and uncontrolled fun. The imagery is created with multiple layers, the background imagery with Pleasure Island is a single layer of graphite drawing on paper, which then has a cel layer with some shadows and highlights accomplished in what appears to be grease pencil, and then another graphite on paper layer for the boys which is trimmed and applied over the cel layer. This is a truely remarkable piece which captures all of the feeling of the on screen scene in the film, but also captures the artistic vision that went into creating the film. The overall piece measures 17" x 18.75" framed with the mat opening exposing an overall image that measures 9" x 11".
