This is a rare original production background from the Walt Disney Studios production of the classic animated short, Elmer Elephant (1936). This stunning hand-painted background features a wonderful image of a jungle forest from a skyward viewpoint, and was created at the studio and used during the production of the short. This is from the scene where Elmer comes to meet the giraffe, about 4:15 into the short, and is the point of view of the giraffe looking back down at Elmer standing below him. The overall measurements of the piece are 10" x 12" and the image itself measures 8.5" x 11.5". The background is in excellent condition with a protective cel overlay attached along the bottom edge with a couple staples.
