“Robin Hood” Little John in Disguise Production Cel and Background (1973) - ID: mar26169

A stunning key-master cel and background setup from the Walt Disney Studios animated film “Robin Hood” (1973). Featuring Little John in disguise approaching Prince John and Sir Hiss at the archery tournament, the hand-painted setup was created at the studio and used during the animation process. The characters have been meticulously trimmed from their original cel layers and applied to the matching hand-painted background. The cel of Little John has been intentionally positioned lower on the stairs to avoid covering Sir Hiss, as he is in the film. Measuring 12.5”x16” overall, with the character image area measuring 7.5”x7.25”, the setup is in very good condition with minimal surface and edge wear. The trimmed and applied setup was done at the studio, as was customarily done as a gift for special circumstances.
