A multilayer production cel setup from the Marvel Studios animated series "X-Men" (1992-1997). Featuring a fantastic image of Cyclops, Iceman, and Jean Grey as they appeared in their traditional uniforms as the first class of the school, the hand-painted cel was created at the studio and used during the animation process. The cel is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the fifteenth episode of season three, titled "Cold Comfort," which aired on February 4, 1995. Each of the three cel layers measures 10.5"x12.5", and they have been intentionally registered in a manner to better present all three characters. The character images measures 4.75"x2.5" for Jean, 5"x3.25" for Iceman, and 5"x2.5" for Cyclops. The cel setup is in very good condition with light surface scratches, minor line and paint fade and transfer, and paper transfer to the reverse of some of the paint from storage. The cel has been paired with a reproduction color copy background for display purposes.
