A ceramic coin bank inspired by the classic Disney Studios animated film, "Bambi" (1942). Featuring Thumper energetically patting his foot to the ground, the figurine was produced by Californian ceramists, Hagen Renaker in the 1950s. Measuring 4.5”x5.25” and 5.5” tall, the figurine is in very good condition with minimal crazing. Hagen Renaker began making ceramics in 1945 and was a licensee to the Walt Disney company for a brief period in the 1960s. This short production window has made their whimsical designs rare treasures to acquire. According to Walt Disney, they produced "the finest three-dimensional reproductions of (the animated) drawings that he ever saw."
