This is a lovely original development painting created in the 1950s for Whitman Publishing. The painting features Alice assisting the card guards in painting the white roses red for the Queen. The image was featured as the cover of the Whitman's Alice in Wonderland Paint Book that was released in 1951. The final image featured a similar theme, with Alice painting roses, but it is not as true to the film's story as this painting. This painting is in very good condition with some handling wear to the outer edges of the board that do not affect the painted image.
