This is a very rare production setup featuring a production cel of Snow White with it's matching production background from the classic Walt Disney animated feature Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). This cel features Snow White from a rare scene that was fully animated, but was removed from the final edit of the film. This "lost scene" from the film is well covered in the documentary, Snow White: The Making of a Masterpiece, which states, "The Bedroom Fight is one of the few examples of a section that was completely animated for the final film, but was removed. Apparently the dwarfs' argument over letting Snow White stay with them went on too long." In this frame of action, Snow White turns from the dwarfs in disagreement, saying, "I'm not afraid of the dark woods at night...and the goblins!" This actual setup is shown in the documentary where it is described as "one of the few surviving color examples" of this lost Snow White scene. This rare artifact from Walt's first masterpiece measures 21.5" x 24" framed with the image shown above measuring 10" x 12.5" through the mat opening. The cel is in excellent condition and is trimmed and applied to the background as it was originally prepared by the studio for sale at the Courvoisier Galleries and still has it's original Courvoisier label on the reverse.
