A gorgeous concept drawing from the Walt Disney Studios animated film “Fantasia” (1940). Featuring a lovely image of the god of wine and parties, Bacchus, dancing with a centaurette, the pastel and graphite image was created at the studio and used during the development of the “Pastoral Symphony” sequence of the film. The lower right corner of the artwork has the “WDP” logo signifying that it was originally prepared for sale at the Courvoisier Galleries in the early 1940s. Measuring 19”x21.5” framed, with mat opening measuring 8.75”x11.25” and the character image measuring 4.75”x10.25”, the concept art is in very good condition unexamined out of the frame. A slight vertical bend along middle left area is visible. The frame shows edge and corner wear from age and handling.
