A background development drawing from the Disney Studios animated musical masterpiece, "Fantasia" (1940). Featuring a loose and beautiful graphite rendering of a winding staircase flanked by a tall column, reminiscent of the Greek Corinthian style, the drawing was created at the studio and used during the early development process. The drawing is likely from the "Pastoral Symphony" sequence of the film. Concept drawings like these were crucial to the animation process, in order to create a world for the characters to engage with. Measuring 10"x12" overall, with the image itself measuring 8"x10.5", the drawing is in fine condition with page discoloration and edge wear due to age and handling.
