An original production cel from the Walt Disney Studios animated film Pinocchio (1940). Pinocchio's adventures capture the mischievous curiosity of childhood in a frightfully accurate manner that continues to captivate audiences even in modern times. Featuring a mischievous Pinocchio swept up in the current of the fish, the hand-painted cel is an exemplary image that was created at the studio and used during the animation process. Pinocchio, the fish, and the bubbles are all hand-painted elements that were created during production and the studio paired together the individual layers for this Courvoisier Galleries setup. The pieces are all actual frames of animation that were photographed and appear in the film. Measuring 17"x18" framed with a 7.5"x9.75" mat opening, and with the character image area measuring 5"x9.5", the cel is in fine condition. The cel is still in its original Courvoisier Galleries mat and is still paired with the custom painted background from the original setup.
