A layout drawing from the Ralph Bakshi Studios animated short "The Butter Battle Book" (1989). Featuring a fantastic image of the Cat in the Hat taking off his hat, the graphite drawing was created at the studio and used during the animation process of the adaptation of the Dr. Seuss book of the same name. It appears to be from an interstitial segment introducing the upcoming cartoon. Measuring 10.5"x12.5" overall, with the character image measuring 8.25”x5.5", the drawing is in very good condition with minor wear from age and handling including edge wear, discoloration, two stains on the right side, and a stain on the bottom left corner.
