A production cel and background setup from the Nepenthe Studios animated cult classic "Watership Down" (1978). Featuring Hazel, the hand-painted cel and background were created at the studio and used during the animation process. Both layers are actual frames of animation that were photographed and appear in separate scenes in the film. The background appears for a while around 10:18, and the image of Hazel appears around 1:05:08 when he’s talking to Kehaar next to the boat. Measuring 10.75”x13.5” overall, with the character image measuring 3.5”x2”, the setup is in very good condition with staples along bottom of the background, and some minor warping and creasing at top right corner of the cel.
