A production cel and background setup from the Nepenthe Studios animated cult classic "Watership Down" (1978). Featuring Bigwig and Captain Campion, the hand-painted cel and background were created at the studio and used during the animation process. The piece is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the film. This image can be seen at about 1:05:00 when Woundwort sends Campion to assess Bigwig’s loyalty. Both cel layers match this background, but the cel layers are do not match each other precisely. Measuring 10.25”x13” overall, with the character image measuring 4.5”x4.75”, the setup is in very good condition with light edge and corner wear and minor creasing to upper right corners of the cels.
