An original background color key concept from the Don Bluth Productions animated film Rock-A-Doodle (1992). Featuring Chanticleer and Goldie, the concept painting was created at the studio and used during the development process. Don Bluth Productions uniquely used these concepts not only to develop the scene's color palette, style, and emotion, but he also used these panels as storyboards to visualize the full story development. The concept's cel overlay also uniquely enabled the studio to consider multiple color options and lighting changes with only one piece. Measuring 5"x7.5" overall, and with the image area measuring 5"x7.5", the concept is in fine condition with minor wear from studio use.
