An extremely rare original painting by Don “Ducky” Williams designed for a cast member exclusive button celebrating Walt Disney World’s 19th anniversary. The painting features a charming image of Pinocchio and his lovable conscience Jiminy Cricket, as the Park’s anniversary coincided with the 50th anniversary of Disney’s animated classic “Pinocchio,” originally released in 1940. Don Williams worked as a character artist for the Walt Disney Company for over thirty years and his beautiful creations have been featured at the Disney Parks & Resorts, Disney Cruise Lines, and the Disney Vacation Club. The company was only producing this special button for their cast members, roughly 25,000 people at that time. To accomplish such a task, Williams was commissioned by the studio to design this button due to his talent for capturing the magic and whimsy of classic Disney characters. Framed with the 3” diameter button it was designed to create, the painting measures 9” in diameter on a 13”x13” art board. The entire piece measures 24.5”x22” overall, and is in fine condition unexamined out of frame, with light scuffs to the frame itself.
