This is a pair of original development drawings used in creating merchandise, likely a poster, for the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. The LA Olympics Mascot was Sam the Eagle, who had been created by Disney Imagineering for the America Sings attraction. The larger of the two concept drawings is accomplished all in pencil and measures 23.75" x 18.75" overall with the image area measuring 22.5" x 13.75". The other concept features photo printed images of Disney characters participating in Olympic events placed around a hand-drawn image of Sam the Eagle and measures 23.5" x 16" overall with the image area measuring 21.5" x 11.25". The larger drawing features an image of Sam arm in arm with Disney Legend Bob Moore, who is responsible for creating Sam. Based on this, I would anticipate this image was being developed for an employee poster. Both drawings are in very good condition with minimal edge and handling wear.
