Created by Joe Murray in 1993 for Nickelodeon, Rocko's Modern Life was developed by Murray in the 1980s and was only pitched to Nickelodeon reluctantly to satisfy their desire for "edgier" cartoonists for Nicktoons. The now cult hit, was praised for its sophisticated, subversive, and often adult humor.
