A production drawing from the Walt Disney Studios animated Mickey Mouse short “Society Dog Show” (1939). Featuring Mickey Mouse as he arrives at the show and tosses his hat onto the bench, the graphite drawing was created at the studio and used during the animation process. The late 1930s design of Mickey is a modernized model that more closely resembles the Mickey that we know today. Measuring 10”x12” overall, with the character image measuring 4.5”x4”, the drawing is in very good condition with minor discoloration from age and light handling related creases and edge wear.
