A four-piece set of ceramic dishes inspired by the 1942 Disney Studios film Bambi. Featuring Bambi, Thumper, Flower, and Owl, the set was produced by the Evan K. Shaw company, likely in the 1940s. The set includes a small plate, a bowl, a mug, and a pitcher. The plate measures 7.5” in diameter and 1” tall, the bowl measures 5” in diameter and 2” tall, the mug measures 4”x3” and 3” tall, and the pitcher measures 5.5”x3.5” and 5.75” tall. Each piece is in very good condition with minimal wear. Through the 1940s and 1950s, the Evan K. Shaw Pottery company and its sister companies, Metlox and American Pottery, produced a wide range of ceramics. In 1943, they were granted approval as a licensee to produce a range of Disney characters. These companies are no longer in business, and their highly desirable figurines are increasingly rare.
