This is an original production cel from the Walt Disney Studios production Ferdinand the Bull (1938). This hand-painted cel features a young Ferdinand. It was created at the studio and used during production, representing an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the cartoon. This cel was trimmed to image (along with the cel of the grass at Ferdinand's feet) and applied to an airbrushed background. This preparation was done for the Courvoisier Galleries art program. The overall measurements of the piece are 12" x 12.5" matted with the mat opening measuring 7.25"x 7.75" and the image of Ferdinand measures 5.5" x 3.75". The production cel is in very good condition.
