This is an original production cel from the Walt Disney Studios production of The Little Mermaid (1989). This hand-painted cel features Ursula as she villainously lures Ariel in to negotiate a deal to trade her voice for human legs. The cel was created at the studio and used during the production of the film, representing an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the film. The image is a critical scene in the film, which was the last Disney feature to use the traditional animation technique of hand-painted cels. The overall measurements of the slightly trimmed piece are 9.5" x 12.75" and the painted character image area measures about 6" x 9.25". The cels are in great condition with each character image on a separate cel layer (3 in total), and the cels are paired with a color copy reproduction background from the matching scene of Ursula's vanity.
