Heavy Metal Production Cel & Background - ID: octheavymetal18500

This is an original cel and background set-up from the 1981 animated cult classic, Heavy Metal. The set-up is comprised of two cel layers and a background layer that were all painted at the studio and used in the production of the B-17 segment of the film. The pilot's body and the front half of the cockpit are on one cel layer and are trimmed to image and applied to the background. The pilot's left hand is on a separate cellayer with the rear window of the cockpit. The overall set-up measures about 12.5" x 20.5" overall with the main image area is it could be presented for framing measuring 9" x 17". The piece is matted to 14" x 22" with the mat opening measuring 9" x 17" and the set-up is in excellent condition overall.
