This is an original production cel from the Walt Disney Studios production The Great Mouse Detective (1986). This production cel comes from the fantastic final chase sequence and features Dawson and Hiram manning the balloon while Basil makes a daring leap to board Ratigan's flying ship in order to save Olivia. It was created at the studio and used during production, representing an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the cartoon. The overall measurements of the piece are 12" x 16.5" and the image area measures 11" x 15.5". The production cel is in very good condition with minimal wear.
