A production cel from the Walt Disney Studios animated film “The Great Mouse Detective” (1986). Featuring Ratigan tormenting Basil while he is tied to a mouse trap, the hand-painted cel was created at the studio and used during the animation process. The piece is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the cartoon. Measuring 14”x18” matted, with the mat opening measuring 7.5”x10.5” and the character image area measuring 6.25”x5.5”, the two layer cel is in very good condition with minimal edge and surface wear from age and handling. The cel is paired with a printed reproduction background.
