A gorgeous preliminary background from the Walt Disney Studios animated film The Sword In the Stone (1963). Featuring a lush forest path that Merlin and Arthur take while being followed by a mangy wolf, the background was created at the studio and used during the animation process. In the final film the background changes color palette slightly from yellow greens to blues and purples. Measuring 13"x16" overall and with the character image measuring 12"x16", the preliminary background is in very good condition.
