A photostat model sheet from the Walt Disney Studios animated Silly Symphony short "Toby Tortoise Returns" (1936). Featuring various comedic poses of Toby Tortoise with his boxing gloves, the model sheet was created at the studio and used during the animation process. Model sheets were printed at the studio and distributed to the animators to ensure consistent character design. Measuring 12.5”x16.75” overall, with the character image measuring 11”x15.25”, the model sheet is in poor condition with discoloration from age, heavy edge wear, creases, tears, and holes throughout, and portions of the page torn away.
