Commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Suffragette movement for women's voting rights in the United States, the back of the plate is marked Preservation Society of Newport County: MCMXLV, made in Portugal. The presence of the Suffragettes and the "Votes for Women" slogan in Mary Poppins has created a link between the film and the historically important movement.
