X-Men The Phoenix Saga, Part III: Cry of the Banshee Matching Lilandra & Juggernaut Production Cel and Background (1994) - ID: jul24034

A multi-layer matching production cel and background setup from the Marvel Studios animated series "X-Men" (1992-1997). Featuring Juggernaut holding up his captive, Shi'ar Empress Lilandra Neramani, the hand-painted cel and background were created at the studio and used during the animation process. Both pieces create an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the season three episode "The Phoenix Saga, Part III: Cry of the Banshee," which aired on September 7, 1994. Measuring 10.25"x14" overall, with the character image measuring 10"x9.5", the cel and background are in very good condition. The cel displays minor surface wear, slight line wear, production-related masking tape adhering one cel layer to the background, and backing paper stuck to the reverse of the cel paint from studio use and storage. The background shows minor edge and corner wear.
