A stunning original production background from the Don Bluth Studios animated video game Space Ace (1984). Featuring a reverse POV tunnel from the beginning of the Checkered Tunnel sequence, the impressive background was created at the studio and used during the animation process and appears in the game. Bluth used many techniques to create visual movements and effects using traditional animation. The oversized background is used to created an effect of the character moving toward the camera and the detail is the painting is incredible to ensure it looked correct in the scene. Measuring 19.5"x26" overall and with the image area measuring 19"x25.5", the massive hand-painted production background is in fine condition with minimal edge wear from studio handling and use. The piece has been framed (not pictured).
