A vintage 1970s ceramic figurine inspired by the Disney Studios animated film "The Sword in the Stone" (1963). Featuring the wise Owl “Archimedes," the figurine was made by Canadiana Pottery of Ingleside, Ontario, Canada, out of red clay from the Collingwood region, and a drip design glaze. Figurines were licensed through a contract with Alfred Dube, who founded Canadiana Pottery in the 1960s after leaving Blue Mountain Pottery. Alfred Dube was able to obtain licensing for production of Disney-themed items. Canadiana Pottery then produced figurines of animals based on the "True-Life Adventures" nature documentary film series. Fourteen full-length and short-subject films were produced by Walt Disney Productions from 1948 to 1960. Measuring 3.75"x3.5" and 5" tall, the figurine is in good condition with light wear from age and display.
