A six-piece set of ceramic dishes inspired by the 1942 Disney Studios film Bambi. Featuring Bambi, Thumper, and Flower, the set was produced by the Evan K. Shaw company, likely in the 1940s. Through the 1940s and 1950s, the Evan K. Shaw Pottery company and its sister companies, Metlox and American Pottery, produced a wide range of ceramics. In 1943, they were granted approval as a licensee to produce a range of Disney characters. These companies are no longer in business, and their highly desirable figurines are increasingly rare. Each plate measures 7.5” in diameter and is in very good condition with minor age-related fading to the graphics, handling-related scratches, slight discoloration, and a textured residue throughout.
