"That's a noise, Grinned the Grinch, that I simply must hear. He paused, and the Grinch put a hand to his ear." This is an original production cel from the Chuck Jones/MGM Studios animated Christmas classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (1966). This hand-painted cel features the Grinch listening for the Whos sadness as they awake with no presents. The cel was created at the studio and used during production, representing an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the cartoon about 20:15 into the film. The cel is hand-signed by legendary animator Chuck Jones and is paired with a color printed reproduction of the matching background. This piece is accompanied by the matching production drawing of the Grinch and two original studio COAs, one for the cel and one for the drawing. The overall measurements of the piece are 18" x 35" framed with each mat opening measuring 9.5" x 12" and the image itself measures 4.25" x 4". The cel is in very good condition.
