Gertie the Dinosaur Main Page A Brief Biography of Winsor McCay A brief history of "Gertie The Dinosaur" Following are a few examples of the Gertie The Dinosaur artwork we have available. Even though the artwork is extremely rare (only @400 pieces known to exist), we have tried to offer a wide range of prices. Each drawing is on a 6.5" X 8.5" piece of rice paper and is still mounted to the original 7" X 9" cardboard sheet to which it was affixed for registration purposes during production of the film. Most have slight darkening around the edges, from the original glue used in mounting. Hearing McCay's
calls, Gertie emerges from behind some rocks in the distance. This
drawing, from the very opening of the film (# 7 in the sequence)
shows us our first glimpse of Gertie. Call for availability.
