An early storyboard drawing from the Ralph Bakshi animated adaptation of the Dr. Seuss children's story "The Butter Battle Book" (1989). Featuring a chilling illustration of the silhouette of one of the Yooks or Zooks carrying the Bitsy Big-Boy Boomeroo, the ink and marker storyboard drawing was created at the studio by legendary artist and animator Maurice Noble and used during the animation process. Noble is a prolific animator with an extremely impressive filmography, who started working at the Disney Studios in 1934 and later MGM and Warner Bros. In an interview with Michael Barrier in 1989, Noble stated that he worked on the film, but Dr. Seuss did not approve his designs. Measuring 8.5"x6.5" overall, with the image itself measuring 4.5"x5.75", the drawing is in very good condition with a pin hole present at the top of the page, slight discoloration, marker ink bleed, and edge wear due to age and handling.
