An early storyboard drawing from the Ralph Bakshi animated adaptation of the Dr. Seuss children's story "The Butter Battle Book" (1989). Featuring a vibrant illustration of a large building that looks like where the weapons are made, the ink and marker storyboard drawing was created at the studio by legendary artist and animator Maurice Noble and used during the animation process. Noble is a prolific animator with an extremely impressive filmography, who started working at the Disney Studios in 1934 and later MGM and Warner Bros. In an interview with Michael Barrier in 1989, Noble stated that he worked on the film, but Dr. Seuss did not approve his designs. Measuring 8.5"x5.25" overall, with the image itself measuring 4.5"x5.75", the drawing is in very good condition with slight discoloration, marker ink bleed, and edge wear due to age and handling.
