A matching production cel and background from the Marvel Studios animated series "X-Men" (1992-1997). Featuring Beast and Rogue as the Phoenix pulls their energy to revive Jean, the hand-painted cel and background were created at the studio and used during the animation process. The matching setup is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and is seen at about 19:10 in the season three episode "The Dark Phoenix, Part 4: The Fate of the Phoenix." Measuring 10.5”x14" overall, with the painted image area measuring 8.5”x11.5", the setup is in very good condition with minor surface and edge wear, slight line wear, and paper transfer to the back of the character cel.
