This is an original publicity cel from the Filmation Studios promotion of The Adventures of Batman (1969-1970). This hand-painted cel features Batman and Robin in front of the moon, and ready to jump into action. This cel was created at the studio and used for promotional and marketing purposes. An identical publicity cel was owned by studio executive Lou Scheimer and hung in the studio's office for years. The style of the characters is more reminiscent of the original comic book art than it is of the style of the series, but the studio was obviously very proud of working on a Batman cartoon. The overall measurements of the piece are about 14" x 19" and the image itself measures 14" x 18.5". The cel is in good condition with some spots of staining and discoloration throughout and some adhesive residue around the edges of the image from a previous frame job.
